Our region has talent!

Each French region contributes to the global recognition of France, whose French gastronomic meal and its rituals are listed as UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage. The Occitanie Region is full of treasures and culinary specialties and its South of France Art de Vivre is exported beyond borders. 

Among this regional heritage, Catalan gastronomy occupies an important place. It has its roots in the Mediterranean, both due to its geographical location with its feet in the sea and its head in the heights, as well as its historical influence when the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans traded with the Catalonia of the time.

Educational objective:

Deepen your knowledge of the different types of French wines, the different Catalan dishes as well as the rules of pairing.

Operational objectives:

Master the vocabulary of wine, the differences between the different profiles of French wines. Master the pairings with the dishes of Catalan gastronomy. Analyze your cuisine and wine list and increase your turnover by advising your customers on food and wine pairings.

Winner of the national and international Sommellerie Sud de France Challenge in 2018, Baptiste is a sommelier consultant and ambassador for wines from the south of France. He works in the restaurant business but also with regional appellation unions and large Languedoc estates such as: Gerard Bertrand, Anne de Joyeuse, Maison Ventenac, Borie de Maurel, etc.

Previously, he worked as Head Sommelier at the starred restaurant of the prestigious Hôtel de la Cité in Carcassonne.
